Cherie Oakley
Cherie Oakley was born into a performing family. She recorded on her first record at age four and got her first manager and talent agent in NYC at age five. As a child and teenager she performed in several regional theaters, Off Broadway, television commercials, fairs, festivals and all over the country and abroad in her families evangelism ministry. Where is she from? “Everywhere I guess,” she says since the road was really her home.
Cherie moved to Nashville in 2002 where she began working on songwriting with various songwriters and singing demos. She eventually began recording BGVs on various records and touring as a background vocalist. She has performed with such artists as Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, Trace Adkins, Kelly Clarkson, Vince Gill, Sheryl Crow, Rosemary Clooney, Alan Jackson, Jennifer Nettles, Idina Menzel, Lucy Hale, Kenny Loggins and Big and Rich to name a few. Cherie can be heard on records from artists such as: Kelly Clarkson, Vince Gill, Cassadee Pope, Reba McEntire, Danielle Bradbery, The Band Perry, Gretchen Wilson and ABC’s television show “Nashville” to name a few. Cherie has performed on The Tonight Show, The Voice, American Idol, The Today Show, The Billboard Music Awards, CMA Fest, Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, American Music Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Association Awards, CMA Christmas Special, The View, VH1 Divas, BBC Breakfast and The X Factor UK to name a few.
Cherie earned her first #1 as a songwriter in 2011 with “Turn On The Radio” released by Reba McEntire. Later released by Lauren Alaina on American Idol season 10.
